The creation of a specific shoulder unit has been necessary due to the frequency of problems in this joint in all age groups: shoulder dislocation and shoulder instability in young patients; fractures in all age groups; rotator cuff injuries; shoulder arthritis and shoulder replacement in the elderly.

HC Marbella’s Shoulder Unit is especially concerned with functional recovery after surgery, enabling patients to restart their everyday and sporting activities. Shoulder arthroscopy, being a minimally invasive technique, is therefore encouraged.

Elbow

Similarly, elbow arthroscopy allows a much less aggressive approach to the elbow joint to treat tendon insertion problems and ruptures than traditional open surgery.
