Conventional ultrasound
Ultrasound or sonography is a procedure that uses high frequency sound waves to look inside the body. An ultrasound is scan is painless and does not cause discomfort, and the body does not receive any radiation.
Based on the tissues examined, the reflected and echoed sound waves are processed on a computer and an image used by physicians for diagnosis is created.
This test takes 10 minutes and requires no preparation, except in certain conditions, in which case the patient is informed when the appointment is made.
The test results are available right away.
