• Scaling and root planing, also known as curettage (aimed at removing plaque and tartar from the teeth and under the gums). This is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for periodontitis, helping the gums to adhere properly to the teeth and reducing inflammation and bleeding.

 

• Pharmacological treatment, which fights infection with the controlled use of antibiotics, as well as mouthwashes, disinfectants and gels.

 

• Periodontal surgery, performed to restore affected tissue in cases of more advanced periodontitis.
