The Oncology Unit at HC Marbella led by Dr. Hernán Cortés-Funes, has more than 25 years of experience in the care of cancer patients and we continue to advance and grow in order to care for our patients. They are our greatest motivation each day.

 

We are a reference unit for Costa del Sol and we work towards being a center of excellence. Our permanent relationship with state-of-the-art national and international reference centers make possible the access to many different innovative techniques for the treatment of different tumors and makes it possible to work together with fundamental research centers.

 

The unit forms part of the general and surgical hospital with more than 30 areas of specialty, in order that the Oncological Unit at HC Marbella is able to guarantee the patient complete attention and maximum security.

 

The goal at HC is to give excellent care, apply recent innovations against cancer and incorporate new technologies, as much in the diagnosis, as in immunotherapy, including radiation treatment during 2018.

From the moment the patient enters the hospital they can refer to the Oncological Nurses. They are usually the members of the treatment team with which patients have the most contact, making them the main point of reference for their care, increasing the patient’s feeling of security and self-esteem. The human relationship, knowledge, and expertise from the nursing staff are extraordinary and will accompany each step of the patient’s experience. HC has always been famous for “their nursing team”.

 

At HC we count on a hospital pharmacist that is specialized in cancer treatments, certified by the American Society for Hospital Pharmacists that actively participates as a part of our multidisciplinary team when making treatment decisions, contributing an additional view on possible interactions with other medicines and preventing adverse reactions related to medication. In turn, the pharmacist supervises the preparation and administration of medication which allows adherence to maximum quality standards.
