Thyroid

  • Patients with hyperfunction or compressive symptoms, incidental nodules and benign o malignant tumors can be treated.
  • At the operating theatre neuromonitoring of recurrent laryngeal nerves, loupe magnifying glasses and ligasure sealing device will be used in every procedure since hemothyroidectomy to total thyroidectomy with dissection of the central and lateral compartment on either side of the neck.
  • Postoperative care with monitoring of calcium and PTH and close surveillance will be important to achieve European quality standards.
