We are pleased to welcome Dr Ziba Ghazizadeh-Monfared Croigny to the HC Marbella medical team. She specialises in Clinical Neurophysiology, an essential medical discipline for the diagnosis and study of diseases affecting the central and peripheral nervous system.
His work focuses especially on the study of neuromuscular diseases by means of diagnostic techniques that include neurography, electromyography and evoked potentials, among others.
Clinical Neurophysiology plays a crucial role in the diagnosis, assessment of severity and monitoring of the progression over time of numerous pathologies affecting the nervous system and muscle function.
Neurophysiological studies are also important for other specialties such as traumatology, neurology, rheumatology, otorhinolaryngology, pneumology and ophthalmology, as they provide key information for the diagnosis and monitoring of multiple disorders related to the nervous system.
Dr Ziba graduated in Medicine from the University of Zaragoza and specialised in Clinical Neurophysiology at the Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocío in Seville.
Her training has been complemented by different specialisation programmes, including a Master’s degree in Physiology and Sleep Medicine from the University of Murcia, as well as specific training in visual electrophysiology at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. In addition, her interest in neuromuscular diseases has led her to continue expanding her knowledge in this field and she is currently undertaking an Advanced Certificate in Neuromuscular Diseases.
Furthermore, thanks to her international profile and her fluency in English, French and Italian (as well as a basic knowledge of Persian), Dr Ziba is able to see patients of different nationalities.
Throughout her professional career, the doctor has worked in different health centres, participating in Clinical Neurophysiology Units and in multidisciplinary teams dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders.
This experience has allowed her to acquire extensive expertise in the performance and interpretation of neurophysiological studies, with particular emphasis on the field of neuromuscular diseases, enabling her to provide an accurate diagnosis with a multidisciplinary approach.
Dr Ziba is a member of several scientific societies, including the Spanish Society of Clinical Neurophysiology and the Spanish Society of Neurology, where she forms part of the neuromuscular diseases study group.
She is also an active participant in the scientific and academic community, presenting research works at leading national conferences and collaborating in specialised training programmes.
