HC Marbella continues to expand its Breast Unit with the appointment of Dr Marta Subires Bootello, a specialist in Diagnostic Radiology with specific training in breast imaging.
With her arrival, the hospital is strengthening its Diagnostic Imaging Department to streamline turnaround times, improve patient follow-up and support earlier, more accurate diagnosis.
Dr Subires completed her training as a specialist in Diagnostic Radiology at the Hospital Universitario Costa del Sol in Marbella. She subsequently focused her professional career on breast imaging.
In addition to her training in emergency radiology, she has developed an advanced specialisation in breast imaging, with specific training at the University of Barcelona and a rotation in the Breast Imaging Unit at the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre in Madrid.
Her appointment expands the team’s expertise in the assessment, detection and monitoring of various breast conditions.
Dr Subires has extensive experience in key breast imaging techniques, such as mammography, tomosynthesis, ultrasound and breast MRI.
These imaging techniques are used complementarily depending on each patient’s individual needs. Their correct selection and interpretation enable the detection of potential lesions, allow each finding to be assessed with greater precision, and support the early diagnosis of breast cancer.
When an image reveals an abnormality that requires further investigation, Dr Subires also performs image-guided interventional breast procedures.
These techniques enable the area to be accurately located and a sample to be taken for analysis, facilitating a reliable diagnosis and the planning of the next steps.
Dr Subires joins a multidisciplinary Breast Unit where radiologists, gynaecological surgeons, oncologists, radiation therapists and other specialists work in a coordinated manner to assess each case.
This approach allows us to support each patient throughout the entire process, from screening and early diagnosis to the assessment of potential lesions, helping to reduce waiting times and feelings of uncertainty.
