HC Marbella and the Gibraltar medical community are in mourning

It is with great sadness that we have received the news of the passing of Dr. George Chami, missing since last Monday in Antakya (Turkey), one of the cities affected by the massive earthquake.

Dr. Chami was a highly respected and excellent GHA (Gibraltar Health Authority) orthopedic surgeon, who joined the HC trauma team in 2019 to enrich it with his expertise and clinical dedication to foot and ankle surgery.

It is a heartfelt loss for all of us, not solely as a doctor, but also as a colleague and friend. From HC Marbella International Hospital we would like to endorse the condolences of the Government of Gibraltar and express our deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones.

The earthquake in Turkey and Syria represents one of the biggest humanitarian catastrophes in recent decades, leaving devastating figures of dead and injured. We would also like to extend our solidarity and support to all the victims of this huge tragedy.
