Genital Confirmation Surgery Workshop with Dr. Marci Bowers

American gynecologist expert in Genital Confirmation Surgery for transgender patients, dr. Marci bowers, meets with Marbella Clinic. The workshop aims to share the latest techniques in GCS with profesionals from the Spanish Gender Identity Units and Foundation Daniela for transgender youth.

Facial Team, independent surgical group specializing in Facial Feminization Surgery and Craniofacial Plastic Surgery, located in HC Hospital Marbella since 2009, continues to promote innovation and research activities to strengthen a little–known surgical discipline, but with a huge potential for development.

On this occasion, the clinic´s third edition of the TransHealth Initiative, for the exchange of knowledge among transgender health specialists worldwide, welcomes Dr. Marci Bowers, an internationally renowned specialist in genital feminization surgery (Gender Confirmation or GCS) based in California, USA. Dr. Bowers will discuss the importance of GCS in the treatment protocol for the transgender patient. She openly shares her unique philosophy, a result of her own personal journey and based upon an extensive clinical experience of more than 25 years and over 600 GCS interventions.

This workshop with Dr. Bowers follows last year´s sessions including the famous Norwegian sexologist, Dr. Esben Esther Pirelli and the prestigious Dr. Preecha (Bangkok), father of genital feminization surgery, both conducted in the year 2014. Most recently, Facial Team has conducted a hospital staff training to sensitize employees to the special needs of transgender patients.
