Low contrast radiation low dose chest CT (chest CT) is very effective and early diagnostic (even earlier than the coronavirus kit) in detecting of coronavirus infection.
It is also a very fast test and with immediate medical report by the radiodiagnosis staff.
It allows to exclude other respiratory causes of fever.
It allows us to know the severity of coronavirus infection at the time it is done.
To this CT is added (for greater diagnostic accuracy), the clinical history of the patient and the determination of coronavirus by throat PCR.
In summary, it is reliable, early, low radiation dose, without contrast and is complemented by laboratory tests to confirm or rule out coronavirus infection.
